feelin’ good, livin’ better

So! I got a bit distracted this weekend on my journey to have a body like Zendaya Coleman. I caved and ordered buffalo wings from the Cheesecake Factory AND I had Chik-Fil-A. Forgive me Lord, for I have sinned.

On the bright side, I’ve been really consistent with my running! I’ve managed to work out everyday during the week. Whether it’s cardio or core work, I make sure I do something active once a day. Also, when I’m bored or watching Netflix I’ll bang out like two sets of 30 sit-ups. I think people really stay committed to their workout regime once they see results. Under my layer of tummy chub, I’m actually starting to see abs poking though which I am suuuuuper hype about! While my goal is to go from 150 to 135, I’m convinced that if I stick with this routine for the month of April, I’ll be really happy with my body by the time I head to Miami on the 30th! It’s all about consistency and discipline. Put in the work and you’ll see positive results. That goes for anything though.

I’m a foodie, as I’ve mentioned a million times, so I’ve been going crazy on Tumblr finding both healthy and delicious snacks that can satisfy some of my cravings. My snacks lately mostly include: pretzels, fruit, carrots, whole wheat tortilla chips with freshly chopped salsa or guac, and nuts. I’ve been drinking strictly water (ugh) and coffee! No soda and no juice. I only use a little bit of sugar and Half and Half when I need a caffeine fix.

Screen Shot 2015-03-31 at 4.37.24 PMI came across this detox water tag on Tumblr which is essentially fruit infused water that helps cleanse the body and eliminate belly fat. I took my booty to the grocery store today and purchased some lemons, limes, and strawberries. Once I got home, I sliced up all three and combined them with ice water in a mason jar. For those of you who HATE water like me, this is a really tasty way to $pice things up!

Screen Shot 2015-03-31 at 4.37.45 PMAs for dinner tonight, I made tilapia (which I broiled), brown long grain rice, and green peas. I try to keep the portions a decent size. Often times, I eat too much or not enough so it’s all about finding a happy medium! I’m eating so much better but still daydreaming about buffalo wings. (I had to put my hand in the picture before ya’ll try to play me like I didn’t make this myself. You see the nails!)

I’ll keep you guys posted on my weight loss journey!
