grind like that to shine like this

unnamedMy stats were boomin’ yesterday and as a result, I finally hit the 3K mark! I want to go ahead and thank all of you guys who continue to read and support Everything Ravey. I’m still so shocked by the response I’ve gotten throughout this whole blogging experience, and I just have to honestly say that I appreciate every single view! 2015 has been a breath of fresh air for me as I’ve been attempting to utilize my time more productively. As I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve been so busy with school, work, and working out. The downtime I do have, I’ve been utilizing by focusing on my blog. Someone recently asked me if I get paid to do this.. which I don’t. I want to do this as a career someday so all the time and energy I put into this is just an investment in myself.

I’m a social media enthusiast. (I STAY on my phone.) I’ve realized that you really can’t determine the work someone is putting in on the daily by what they post on social media. Fab said it best: make more moves & less announcements. At the end of the day, it’s not about what others think you’re doing. It comes down to the actual work you’re really putting into your craft.. whatever your craft may be.

In most cases, I think the ones that have to show the moves their making are actually not making any moves at all. I used to go on at social media, look at other people’s lives in comparison to my own, and use that to measure if what I was doing in life was enough. You can’t focus on other people’s successes to validate your own life. Nor do you need acknowledgement for every positive move you make in your life. Stay committed, fuck the credit. Make moves because you’re about your business, not because it would be a good Instagram post.

It took me a minute to realize that you really have to grind like this to shine like that. Hard work produces the results that others may find IG worthy. Stay focused and consistent. I still have to wake up and tell myself that every single morning.
