Starbucks was my saving grace this morning.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I had a very successful Memorial Day Weekend! It’s one of those holidays where it can go one of two ways: you can either overhype the whole weekend and end up ass out with absolutely nothing to do, OR it can be unexpectedly so litty and end up being one of the best weekends out of the entire year. I can truthfully admit that Memorial Day Weekend set this best tone for this summer!
Of course, I had some sort of expectation for this summer being 21 now, ya know? Writing for Viewing.NYC especially has shown me the number of events and opportunities that the city has to offer. Almost instantaneously when mentioning NYC, one’s mind instantly goes to the nightlife. Even today, I wrote a post dedicated to the Rooftop Film Club’s summer screening series. It’s thinking outside of the box and being open to new adventures. Spending money on experiences more than valuables. Memories, not materials.
Back to #MDW!
Saturday, I attended HennyPalooza at the The Wick in Brooklyn. It’s essentially an outdoor day party consisting solely of Hennessy. That shit went allllllll the way up. And to confirm, that dark liquor really does give you energy. Surrounded by good music and good people, it was such an ideal introduction for what’s to come this summer! Some familiar faces who were in attendance included: Nessa Nitty of Hot 97, Cali rapper Dom Kennedy, and NY’s very own Mack Wilds.
The rest of my weekend was pretty low-key for the most part! Mostly spent trolling these NYC streets and attending some holiday BBQs. There’s so much material I want to post to my site so I’m definitely working on dedicating more time to Everything Ravey.
I’ll be reporting more of my summer shenanigans on here. 🙂
